6 Holiday Activities at Home

6 Holiday Activities at Home

Posted on December 5, 2021

As the song says, “There’s no place like home for the holidays.”  This year we may be celebrating at home more than past years but that doesn’t mean our holiday spirit isn’t there. We have compiled a list of fun activities to help you get into the spirit while celebrating in the comfort of your own home.

DIY Christmas Ornaments

To get into the holiday spirit, craft up your very own DIY ornaments. They are super fun to make and your family will treasure them for years. They’re not just beautiful, they’re also meaningful keepsakes. The simple materials you will need are clear ornaments, polyacrylic, and your choice of glitter. Get ready to craft away!

Fizzing Christmas Trees Science

Tis the season for melting Christmas trees baking soda science experiment for the kids. This is a fun science experiment for kids to spend the holidays watching fizzy eruptions and learning about science. A simple baking soda and vinegar experiment to get you started.

Nutter Butter Reindeers

Want to celebrate this holiday with a simple cookie recipe? These Nutter Butter Reindeers are simple, and people will love them. They make a perfect project for your family to create or to add to a plate of other homemade treats. The items you will need to create these cookies are Nutter Butter cookies, red M&Ms, pretzels, candy eyes and icing to attach everything.

Hop on a video call with Santa

Getting to meet Santa is a magical experience for many during the holiday season. Even though we may not get to visit Santa in person this year, Santa’s Club will personalize your virtual visit. Pour your hot cocoa, jump on the call and watch the magic come to life.

“Jingle” Your Neighbor

A great way to spread holiday cheer is by giving to others. Jingle your neighbor by leaving a note that says “you’ve been jingled” anonymously. With your note, include candies and chocolates, baked goodies, DIY gifts, small toys, Christmas decorations, candles and other festive items. The whole neighborhood will get into the spirit as people pass along their own “you’ve been jingled” basket.

Make Christmas Masks

You can make these cute masks out of paper plates for a fun Christmas craft. Ordinary white paper plates and a few simple supplies are all kids need to whip up this adorable holiday project. Don’t forget to take tons of pictures of the little artist sporting their snowman, Santa Claus and Mrs. Claus masks.
