Look no further for the best wineries to visit in and around Rio Rancho, NM. There are plenty to entice you throughout New Mexico, but we limited ours to exploring six wineries located less than 35 minutes from Rio Rancho, home to the top-ranked master-planned community, Mariposa. Each of these have tasting rooms and each is different in their wine offerings, look and experience.
After 10 years of growing grapes and making wine, owner Al Knight, and his family decided to open their winery. Acequia has now planted over 3000 vines in the Corrales area. Their tasting room is always warm and inviting to both public and private tastings. Make your visit memorable and enjoy an afternoon outing at Acequia Vineyard and Winery.

Casa Rondeña Winery was established in late 1995 as a family undertaking, with the first plantings in 1990 at the hands of John Calvin. The Tasting Room and winery is open to the public daily from noon to 7 p.m. The Tasting Room allows you the opportunity to sample the most popular wines made on the premises. Cheese boards, crackers and chocolates are available for purchase in the tasting room. No reservations are necessary.

Pasando Tiempo Winery and Vineyards
Owners Chris and Martha Carpenter set out on a mission when they decided to open their vineyard in 2005. Their goal is to “make their own delicious wine and share it with the people they love.” Relax, take your time and enjoy good wine and good company while visiting Pasando Tiempo Winery and Vineyards.

Corrales is a family-owned and operated winery specializing in crafting small quantities of 100% New Mexico wines. Just minutes north of Albuquerque, you will find the winery incorporates Native American and Northern New Mexico Spanish-style architecture and overlooks the Sandia Mountains. They create a selection of red and white wines for every taste. Corrales Winery will ship wine anywhere within New Mexico for a 10% discount.

Vara Winery and Distillery, an Albuquerque-based winery with a quaint tasting room located near ABQ International Balloon Fiesta Park, offers an international family of Spanish and American wines celebrating the origins of the American wine experience.

Founded in 1984, Gruet Winery of New Mexico specializes in Methode Champenoise sparkling wines, like Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. New Mexico is where it all started for Gruet’s American Venture.
