Since its Olympic debut, rock climbing has become an increasingly popular sport among teens and adults alike, and New Mexico is no exception. With two indoor climbing gyms in the Albuquerque area and multiple outdoor climbing destinations nearby, Mariposa residents in Rio Rancho have plenty of opportunities to get involved in the sport.
For those looking to climb indoors, Albuquerque is home to two Stone Age Climbing Gym locations. They also provide community-oriented programs such as youth camps, birthday parties, team-building activities, and guided climbing services, making them welcoming spaces for climbers of all ages and experience levels.
Locations: Stone Age Climbing Gym North, 6200 Alameda Blvd. NE; and
Stone Age Climbing Gym Midtown, 4130 Culter Ave. NE.
