MARIPOSA HARVEST FESTIVAL DRAWS A CROWD AND CELEBRATES COMMUNITY SPIRIT

Posted on September 9, 2025

Mariposa Park came alive on Saturday, August 23, as more than 1,200 visitors gathered for the annual Harvest Festival, a tradition that continues to grow in size and heart. Hosted by the Mariposa Community Association, this year’s event was a vibrant showcase of local talent, neighborhood pride, and joyful connection.

With 55 vendors, 47 volunteers, and a full day of activities, the park buzzed with energy from morning to evening. Booths lined the walkways offering everything from handcrafted art and home services to delicious bites from food trucks and information from animal rescue organizations. Inside the community center, the Artists of Mariposa displayed their work, adding a creative flair to the festivities.

A live DJ kept the atmosphere upbeat, while lawn games and arts and crafts in the park’s pavilion drew families and kids throughout the day. One of the standout additions this year was Tamaya Horse Rescue, whose gentle horses captivated guests of all ages and sparked meaningful conversations about their mission.

Dave Garcia, a member of the planning committee, reflected on the event’s success.

“One of the highlights this year was the addition of Tamaya Horse Rescue. Both children and adults enjoyed seeing the horses and learning more about their mission,” he said.

Behind the scenes, the festival was powered by the dedication of Mariposa’s homeowners. Executive Director Fran Pawlak praised the volunteers who met weekly for two months to bring the event to life:

“I could not be prouder of the homeowners that gathered weekly to plan and execute an event of this magnitude,” Fran said. “What a beautiful place to call home in so many ways.”

With more than 45 volunteer homeowners lending a hand on the day of the festival, the Harvest celebration was a reflection of Mariposa’s spirit.

“I can’t wait to see what they do moving forward,” Fran said.
