The area around Mariposa has so many summer events it’s hard to know where to start. We’ve narrowed down our list to a few favorites during the months of May and June. There are multiple options for all ages and price ranges to discover, connect and create new summertime memories.
Albuquerque Isotopes Baseball, all May, June, July Batter up! Enjoy baseball in the best way. The Albuquerque Isotopes are a Minor League Baseball team of the Pacific Coast League and the Triple-A affiliate of the Colorado Rockies. They play home games at Rio Grande Credit Union Field at Isotopes Park in Albuquerque. Things to know before you go: https://www.milb.com/albuquerque/ballpark/know-before-you-go. Location: 1601 Avenida Cesar Chavez SE, Albuquerque, about 30 miles from Mariposa Cost: The average cost of a single-game Isotopes ticket is about $27, but fans can sometimes find seats for as low as $9. Tickets for a full season of baseball cost between $685 and $1,600. For kids, $1 discount for ages 2-12, also discount for military and seniors.
Rio Rancho Annual CommunityYard Sale, May 21 It’s always fun to browse around Rio Rancho’s Biggest Yard Sale on May 21 at the Cabezon Community Center. You’ll find craft vendors and food trucks amongst the yard sale treasures. Enjoy a day in the park and find a treasure that you have been searching for! Albuquerque Blues and Brews on May 29, Memorial Day Weekend Join in on one of the largest beer celebrations in the state! New Mexico has great beer and we love to celebrate it. Enjoy unlimited samples from local and regional breweries. About 60 breweries will be on hand for you to sample their delicious brews. PLUS, they’ll have some of the best local blues musicians around. ABQ Blues & Brews supports multiple local charities. Rio Grande Valley Celtic Festival, June 4-5 Attend a celebration of the lifeways, traditions, cultural heritage and contributions of the Celtic nations. The Festival assembles a kaleidoscope of Celtic song, dance, traditional clothing (aye, the kilt), foods, language revival, stories, poetry, humor, history, traditional and Celtic inspired music. Baby Shark Live: 2022 Splash Tour on June 9 Gather up the kids to see Baby Shark Live at the Rio Rancho Events Center. Their catchy lyrics and fun dance moves make them popular with children and adults alike. Location: 3002 Civic Center Circle, Rio Rancho Cost: Tickets start at $30
Heights SummerfestJune 11 On June 11, grab your family and friends to attend a concert series that features an Artisan Market with handcrafted products, food trucks with freshly made cuisine, libations created by breweries, wineries and distilleries, entertainment by local talent and a production by a national headliner. Tablao Flamenco Albuquerque, Dinner Show and Matinee, all May, June and July Experience flamenco in its most intimate, powerful setting in the heart of historic Old Town Albuquerque, featuring premier artists from Spain and the United States. Proceeds from the Tablao support the National Institute of Flamenco for the preservation, promotion and advancement of this powerful art form.
